A QCF (Qualification & Credit Framework) offers a way of recognising skills and achievement by awarding credit for qualifications and units. QCF enables people to gain qualifications at their own pace along flexible routes.
Designed to develop the skills and knowledge to do the job effectively a QCF is a competence based qualification gained at the workplace. It is a great way to improve your CV and help you progress with your career.
A unit is the smallest part of learning in the QCF for which credit is awarded. Credits awarded for each individual can be put together to make a qualification.

One credit represents 10 hours of average learning time and the credit value shows how much time it takes to complete.
The level shows how difficult the unit or qualification is and can be anywhere between entry level and level 8.
Work based qualifications are funded by the Welsh Government
