Introduction

The Level 2 Foundation Apprenticeship in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools is ideal for individuals who are new to school support roles or working under close supervision. Assessment and What to Expect

• Workplace-based assessment: All evidence comes from the learner’s role within the school.

• Direct observations: Assessors observe practice in areas such as supporting learning activities, behaviour management, and interaction with pupils.

• Portfolio of evidence: Learners collect work products, reflective accounts, and examples of contributions to classroom activities.

• Professional discussions: Structured conversations to demonstrate knowledge and reflect on practice.

• Knowledge assignments: Written tasks covering areas such as child development, safeguarding, and equality.

Learners will receive regular visits and ongoing support from their assessor, ensuring they can link theory to practice in their role.

Outcomes
