Already have an idea of what you want to do but need the skills and experience to get there? Advancement at PRP Training is designed to move you closer to your career goals with a structured plan tailored just for you.

When you join, we’ll sit down together and map out your journey. This might include gaining recognised qualifications, taking part in work placements, or learning industry-specific skills that make you stand out to employers. With our close links to Pembrokeshire businesses, we can match you with opportunities that align with your ambitions.

During Advancement, you’ll work on both practical and academic skills. This could mean improving your Maths and English, developing digital skills, or focusing on technical training in your chosen sector. At the same time, you’ll join workshops and activities that boost employability — from teamwork and leadership to communication and resilience.

A big part of Advancement is work experience. You’ll spend time with local employers, gaining insight into how industries work day-to-day. These placements give you the chance to build confidence, make contacts, and show what you can do in a real setting. Many learners find these experiences lead directly to apprenticeships or job offers.

Your mentor will check in regularly, helping you stay on track and giving you support when you need it. And, just like with Engagement, you’ll continue to receive a training allowance until you’re ready to move into paid work.

By the time you finish Advancement, you’ll not only have improved your skills and confidence but also built a strong CV, gained qualifications, and experienced the workplace first-hand. It’s the stepping stone that takes you from having a career idea to actually being prepared for it.
