  • Portfolio of evidence: Includes operational plans, improvement projects, reflective accounts, and performance monitoring records.

  • Direct observations: Assessors observe learners leading teams, implementing change, or managing departmental operations.

  • Professional discussions: Structured discussions to evaluate leadership practice, strategic thinking, and management theory in action.

  • Knowledge assignments: Written tasks exploring leadership styles, change management, and organisational improvement.

Assessors support learners in linking theory to practice and applying advanced management skills directly to their workplace role.

Outcomes

On successful completion, learners will:

  • Be equipped to work in roles such as Operations Manager, Department Manager, or Middle Manager.

  • Have the confidence to lead at a higher level, making decisions that impact teams, projects, and departments.

  • Be prepared to progress to the Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership (ILM), focusing on strategic leadership and organisational direction.
