Afith joined PRP Training to pursue his Health and Social Care Level 2 qualification while working at Bangeston Hall (Orbis Group). He faced one of the toughest challenges for any learner — a language barrier — as English is not his first language. However, through persistence and additional study, Afith overcame this hurdle, successfully completing his Essential Skills Communication at Level 1 and proving his ability to rise to any challenge.
Afith has shown exceptional commitment to his personal development. He regularly attended PRP Training hubs outside of work hours to strengthen his literacy and digital skills, demonstrating a proactive approach that sets him apart. His assessor describes him as a pleasure to work with, consistently producing high-quality work and achieving first-time passes in exams.
At Bangeston Hall, Afith has applied his learning with professionalism and care. He supports residents with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health challenges, providing personal care, emotional support, and ensuring their safety and wellbeing. His dedication has earned him the respect of both colleagues and residents, and he has already stepped into leadership responsibilities as a Night Shift Team Leader. In this role, he ensures smooth running of the service — all with calmness and professionalism.
Afith is not only a committed learner but also an ambassador for apprenticeships. He shares his journey with colleagues, peers, and even within his community, inspiring others to consider apprenticeships as a pathway to career success. His long-term ambition is to progress to the Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification and eventually take on a more senior role in the sector.
